In just a couple weeks it will be time for our annual celebration of my family’s Irish heritage with some traditional Irish food, or at least some Irish-inspired dishes. We usually have Irish soda bread and Irish beef stew, as well as a cocktail or dessert with either Guinness stout or Irish cream, two of my favorite Irish exports.
To help plan your St. Patrick’s Day celebration, I put together a menu on Foodily.com with a few of our favorites, including Irish beef stew, Eve’s Black Heart cocktail, Colcannon and Irish Soda Bread from the Gluten-Free Goddess, and Chocolate Stout Cake With Bailey’s Cream Cheese Frosting from Closet Cooking. Any one of these will make the day more festive.
What are your favorite foods for St. Patrick’s Day? Is green beer on the list or do you prefer to keep things more traditional?
