I was in Philadelphia recently and had to try an authentic cheese-steak. I bought one at Geno's and one at Pat's...both Wiz-wit. Geno's cut it in half, Pat's would not.

I sat in my car and ate both. The verdict: they both were bad. The meat had very little flavor and was tough. A complete waste of time and money. Both of these places should slow cook the meat to soften it and add some spices to bring out the flavor. The buns were good.

Both places are running on HYPE and the product they sell is just not up to the "which is better" craziness that they both promote. A big "thumbs down" to both.

According to my husband, you must try the cheesteak from Pizza Mia (provolone slices) with peppers, onions, and mayo! That's how we were told to eat them out there. The cheesteak place at Market Street Station was well ranked too.
I lived there for 3 years and never saw a resident eat one with Cheeze Whiz.
