  1. Andrea even without a big rise in the layers, your cake is beautiful. I love the simple zest decorating the top. Sometimes simple really is the most elegant you can go with!!

    I love the zest decorations on the top – it makes it so elegant. Splitting the layers is nice, but it does add a LOT of extra frosting to the interior – I might go without next time. Lovely work!

    I would never attempt this since it looks too difficult for me, an amateur cook, the cake is adorable just to look at (wish you had more divine pics to show) but your step by step indications just tempt one to try it out – that I must, just to know that its possible. Merci beaucoup for such a wonderful site.
