The Packing Begins…

Moving time is finally here! We’ve been anxious and excited about our new adventure, and now we’re in the home stretch. The movers will visit tomorrow to look around and give an estimate on the number of days required to pack, and then they will start the job later in the week. We’ll have a weekend break, then they’ll be back next Monday to finish up. So if everything goes according to plan, we’ll move in to our new home on March 9. Then the fun of unpacking and organizing begins.

The boys are very excited and they keep asking about the new house. They’ve seen pictures, but of course a four-year-old and a two-year-old really can’t comprehend the total upheaval about to take place. We’ve planned some fun little surprises for them to help with the adjustment phase.

As for me, I’m adjusting to the fact that I’m really not going to have a kitchen for the next few weeks. I have a few days left to enjoy my domain, and then it’s all going into boxes. We can eat off paper plates, but soon it will be impossible to actually cook anything. I foresee several meals eaten out or brought in during the next two weeks.

I’m not even going to attempt to blog during this busy time because there are so many other things to take care of. So while we’re busy moving, please feel free to browse the archives. Hopefully I’ll be back up and running in time for St. Patrick’s Day. I’ve promised Michael that I will make his mother’s creme de menthe brownies this year in addition to her Irish Soda Bread.

I love reading your comments, thanks for joining the conversation and sharing your thoughts. No advertising, please, or I'll mark it as spam. I try to respond to questions within 1 to 2 business days, but life as a working mom is busy, and sometimes questions require a little research. I try to get to them as quickly as possible. :-)
